The battle of good and evil is timeless. We have seen this countless times over the course of our recorded history and in every civilization that has inhabited the earth. To address this never-ending struggle, Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society of two-year colleges, has invited Reza Aslan, a regular commentator for CBS as a Middle East Analyst as well as NPR's Marketplace, to do a nationwide presentation of this topic.

Nova Shows Hispanic Heritage

Nearly 200 students gathered on the campus patio at Annandale to celebrate Latino culture at the Hispanic Heritage Festival on September 19th, sponsored by Annandale's Hispanic Students Union (HSU) to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month which runs from September 15th to October 15th.

Security Cameras Make Their Debut

Those of you returning to NOVA after a summer break may have noticed something you haven't seen around campus before: surveillance cameras.
As a result of the Virginia Tech massacre last April, colleges around the country are examining their security policies and procedures as students head back to school - considering everything from installing door locks to allowing concealed handgun permit holders to carry their weapons on campus.

The Clothesline Project

For Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Alexandria Office on Women will be presenting its Clothesline Project at Alexandria Campus on Monday, October 22.
The project consists of t-shirts decorated by survivors of sexual abuse and violence. The shirts are color coded to represent victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse, rape and incest.
